What $BETTER is
$BETTER is the access token for the BETTER ecosystem.
Today, its main live function is to unlock the BETTER Terminal. In the future, the same token also enables access to BETTER vaults.
Live utility today
Terminal access
- the Terminal is gated by
$BETTER - access is checked per wallet and per session
- thresholds vary by fully diluted valuation band
- Lite Mode can reduce the standard Terminal requirement
Stake still counts
If a user has already staked the qualifying $BETTER amount for future vault access, that same stake still counts for Terminal access.
Planned utility next
When vaults launch, BETTER plans to require users to stake the qualifying $BETTER amount to deposit into those vaults.
This is meant to keep the Terminal and future vaults under one shared access layer.
Token trading taxes
BETTER uses a 2% buy tax and 2% sell tax for interaction with the Aerodrome $BETTER/WETH liquidity pool.
Important clarifications:
- this is a liquidity-pool trading tax, not a simple wallet-to-wallet transfer tax
- the tax is implemented in the token flow for that LP interaction
- the Terminal's Lite Mode fee is a separate mechanism
Treasury and burn policy
- LP tax proceeds are split between BETTER and OpenServ development wallets
- treasury spending is currently a majority team decision
- BETTER may perform discretionary, rule-based market buybacks and send bought tokens to a burn wallet
Future value flow (planned, not live)
BETTER describes several future revenue lines and strategy profits that may later support discretionary buybacks or burns once those products exist, including:
- future vault performance fees
- future business-to-business data products
- future OpenRouter credits for BETTER's planned prediction-market model
- future arbitrage around
vBETTERand other later products
These are future lines, not the current live product set today.
